Knowing the Weather
I really like this location. I shoot here. I run here. Sometimes I just pass by to take in the scene.
It’s a tobacco field near the Connecticut River and in the spring and late summer it is often enveloped by its own weather system when the water temperature and the air temperature collide as the seasons change.
I went to bed the night before this picture was taken knowing that cool fall air would crash into the warm water temperature of the river the next morning. I got up early to photograph the effect.
You never know what you’re going to get when you rely on nature’s fog machine, but the results are usually interesting.
Hang on - it’s almost spring.
