A Divided America

Plainfield, Connecticut.

On a weekend in late October, about 1,000 supporters of former President Trump gathered and waited more than four hours to hear from Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a woman considered so dangerous by her colleagues that she has been stripped of all committee assignments in Congress.

What the members of the crowd said, how they behaved, the signs and flags they carried, and the speeches they cheered for presented a portrait of intolerance and a look inside a movement that is - in the end - anti-democratic and anti-American.

I suspect some people will quarrel with my observations, but my observations are based in the verifiable truth. The same cannot be said of a gathering of people who still consider Donald Trump to be the president of the United States.

I stand by my story.
