The Tulsa Race Massacre

One hundred years ago, an incident on an elevator in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma led to one of the worst cases of racial violence in American history.

The Tulsa Race Massacre left nearly 300 Black Tulsa residents dead and destroyed a prosperous section of the city known as Black Wall Street.

Even today, the scars left by the violence are evident throughout Tulsa.
