Along the Way

Upstate New York.

Along the way to various projects I often see other subjects that catch my eye.

Since I’m usually driving these subjects are often landscape or architecture. One of my favorite architectural subjects has always been barns. They are simple and practical and the combination seems to make them indestructible to any force other than time.

Litchfield, Connecticut.

There’s an old saying that goes, “Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a carpenter to build one.”

I suppose that says something about their basic design. Both fragile and strong, but reliable.

There is beauty in reliability.

Along the way, reliability is worth seeking.
